How to Find Motivation When Working Remotely

Maybe you’re a business veteran but suddenly find yourself sharing your home office with a spouse, roommate, or co-worker. Don’t worry, and you’re not alone. Both new and experienced teachers are having a hard time working from home these days. That’s why we’ve put together some of the best options on office furniture to keep yourself motivated when working and maintain your motivation.

Set-Up Workspace

workspace

Veteran remote workers have a safe workspace at home, but lately, they may not. It can be tempting to sit on the couch with your laptop, but that’s not conducive to working. Instead, work in a designated area or at a desk if you can. Point out to your family that part of your dining room is now your office and that all meals are taken at the dining room table. If you sit there, you won’t have to worry.

Schedule Down Time

Scheduling a specific time to recover from work is very important for telecommuters. Your body and mind need some time off to recharge and rejuvenate. Some telecommuters go to the gym or twice a day, but few go for a walk every day. President Obama was able to schedule meals with his family to have them at the beginning and end of the day.

Create Reminders

Save your brain for all the tasks that need it, and set reminders and alarms to keep track of your mundane tasks that need to be done. Whether it’s that document you want to create every other day or a household chore you’re responsible for, let technology keep track of that task for you. That way, you are responsible for the items that matter to you and let the reminders handle the rest.

Learn Something New

If it’s something psychological, take the opportunity to engage in something new to exercise new literal and mental muscles. Take the opportunity to discover a new skill for work to cultivate your toolbox, such as using WordPress or perhaps Squarespace.
